ABOUT ME
Tyler Mok is in his first year at the University of Texas at Austin; studying Radio-Television-Film (RTF). Currently, he is working on professional sets to gain valuable experience. Notably, he was the Founder and President of the Film Club and No Place For Hate Committee at William B. Travis High School. Other activities include being an active member in SkillsUSA and Best Buddies. Additionally, he worked at the Houston Museum of Natural Science for over three years and was a Visitor Services Lead. He is a member of the International Thespian Society and was heavily involved in the Travis Theatrical Company / Troupe 7186 in various roles. He has participated in 10+ productions with credits including Billy Flynn (Chicago: Teen Edition), Cinderella's Prince (Into The Woods), and Stage Manager (The Game's Afoot).
He understands the importance of audience resonance with cinema and wants to evoke uncommon emotions and feelings not typically displayed. Works need to feel grounded with heart even if a piece lands in the sci-fi or fantasy genre. He wishes to tell stories from personal experiences bringing light to topics often overlooked. Drawing inspiration from artists all over, he has always loved seeing media with enticing cliffhangers and attention to minute details. He particularly enjoys seeing how impactful sound and color can be to a storyline and character development. Lastly, he wants to stray away from the “norm” of Hollywood nowadays and create genuine works with provoking messages he is interested in portraying.
